Getting started

Find your way around the event editor

A complete map of the event editor: every tab, the publishing controls and the workflow from a new listing to event-day reports.

WHERE TO FIND IT

Events → open an event

SECTION 01

Start in the right website

Check the Account and Website selections before opening your event. The editor works on the selected event record; a similar title in another website is a different record. Keep the event title and website visible when checking reports or asking for support.

Your permissions and website configuration determine which tabs and actions appear. This reference describes the current event editor. A setting can be present in administration without being used by your website template; those settings are identified in the relevant guide.

SECTION 02

Details: the event’s essential information

Description
Enter the title, introduction, tags, type, categories, source and ticketing links, identifiers and feature image.
Where and When
Set the start, finish, doors-open time, recurrence, location and maximum attendance. Accommodation dates are also available for configured bookings.
Banner and Logo
Give this event its own banner image, text, button label, logo override or YouTube video.
Page
Manage the file name, search title, meta description, template and configured security setting.
Promote
Choose attendee-display, hashtag, sharing and featured-placement settings.
Venue Map
Maintain the address, coordinates, marker and map category.
Options
Review the configured Don’t Issue Tickets and Bond Amount settings.

SECTION 03

Content, tickets and supporting material

Content
Build the main event description with text, images, videos, columns, feature cards and other reusable blocks.
Tickets, Registrations or Bookings
Add and edit the admission or booking records attached to this event. These records control the offer guests book.
Ticket Options
Link existing Products & Options or create new ones for a configured extras workflow. Check how the option appears in checkout before offering it.
More Content
Manage Speakers or Artists, Sponsors, Agenda and Photos. Some tabs can link an existing shared record as well as create a new one.

SECTION 04

Know which report answers your question

Dashboard
Review revenue, paid orders, paid tickets, page views and conversion, plus ticket sales and referrer charts.
Attendees or Tickets
Open the registration or ticket reports offered for the event’s attached ticket types. This is the starting point for operational attendee information.
Patrons + Subscribers
Select an email list to see the event-related subscriber report for that publication. This is a report, not a command to subscribe everyone.
Bookings
Search and export the event booking report. One order can represent more than one ticket or attendee.

SECTION 05

Save, preview and publish

Use Save to store edits. Save & Preview saves and stages a version for review. Save & Publish saves and publishes the record. The Preview tab lets you switch between Staged and Published versions; selecting the tab alone does not save changes. History shows available versions and, where permitted, a Roll back action.

Schedule… opens Publish date and Expiry date. These are publication settings, separate from the event date and ticket sale window. Review the detailed publishing guide before using them.

SECTION 06

Example: prepare next Friday’s live music night

  1. Open the venue website and create an event, or use Save Copy before editing an existing one. Check that you are working on the new copy.
  2. Complete Description and Where and When. Use a short introduction, separate doors-open and performance times, and the correct venue.
  3. Build the Content, choose the feature and banner images, and attach the performers and any running order.
  4. Create ticket types and verify the event capacity, booking quantities, sale windows and payment setup.
  5. Save & Preview. Check the staged event on a phone-sized view, then test the booking journey using your agreed test setup.
  6. Save & Publish and check the public link. Include the published listing in your venue’s weekly gig guide.
  7. Use Dashboard during promotion and the attendee and booking reports to prepare for the door.
